MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Field Hockey Team saw its 2017 season come to an end Friday in a 3-1 setback against Sewanee in the opening game of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Sewanee 3, Concordia Wisconsin 1
- Location: Mason Field (Rhodes College) – Memphis, Tennessee

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ceara Caffrey scored all three goals for the Tigers, including the lone score in the opening half in the 24th minute. Caffrey added a goal in the 53rd minute to make the score 2-0 and finished off the scoring with a goal in the 62nd minute.

- CUW, who was the fifth seed in the SAA Tournament, was within one at halftime because of the play of sophomore goalie Kennedy Boyer (Saline, Mich.). The Falcons were outshot 17-1 in the opening half, including 10-0 in terms of shots on goal but Boyer played outstanding with nine first-half saves.

- Boyer finished the game with 14 saves. The Falcons applied more pressure in the second half, sending five shots on goal as Katya Waters of the Tigers stopped four of them.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Fulton has led the Falcons in goals in each of the first two years of the program. She scored nine last season and posted the first double-digit goal season in CUW Field Hockey history in 2017.

- The Falcons and Sewanee met in the regular season on Saturday, October 14, with the Tigers winning 3-0.
