Greg Fictum enters his second season in 2013 with the Concordia University Wisconsin football program, coaching the offensive line.
After nine years as head coach at New Holstein High School, Fictum will serve as the Falcons' offensive line coach, bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the program.
Under Fictum the NHHS Huskies reached the WIAA playoffs six times during his tenure after the school previously had two playoff appearances over the 35 year history of the WIAA playoffs. Matt Lechler, a standout at defensive tackle at CUW, was also coached by Fictum at New Holstein.
Prior to his stint as high school head coach, Fictum coached at Lakeland College under Randy Awrey with a record of 18-2 over a two-year period. He also assisted with the offensive line at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
As a four-year letter winner in college, Fictum played at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he started on the offensive line and long snapped for the Pointers for three years after transferring from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. With the Pointers, Fictum won two conference championships and a national championship. In addition to college, he played 22 years for the Racine Raiders, semi-pro football team winning five national championships, and played a year of football in Glasgow, Scotland.
Fictum was inducted into the AFA Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010. He also had several NFL free agent tryouts and earned time in training camp with three NFL teams.
Fictum lives in New Holstein, Wis., with his wife Colleen and their two children, Grace and Noah.
