Falcons take on pre-season NAC favorite Benedictine

-- Benedictine University, the pre-season choice to win the 2011
Northern Athletics Conference football crown, comes to Mequon on
Saturday with a 3-2 overall record, including 2-0 in conference
action. Century Stadium is the site for a 1 p.m. battle that should
include a fair share of offensive fireworks.

The visitng Eagles are averaging an impressive 30.6
points per game, racking up over 2,000 yards of evenly distributed
run-pass total offense in their five games to date.
All-NAC running back John Borsellino has averaged 125 yards on the ground per contest with an impressive 5.7 per carry and an eye-popping 11 touchdowns. His backfield mate John Alessi has added about 30 yards a game on the ground but is a punishing blocker.
BenU's Matt Brown is an excellent quarterback with an amazing efficiency rating of 145.1. His 63 completions have gone for 1,023 yards and nine TDs. Brown has also scrambled for another 255 yards.
Brandin Austin is Brown's favorite target, having snared 23 passes for 460 yards in those five outings.
Defense, a BenU strength in previous seasons, has not been a key to the Eagle success to date. The visitors have allowed 143 points, and almot 400 yards per game.
