Three Things To Know: Cross Country ready to run at regionals

WINNECONNE, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will compete at the NCAA Division III Midwest Championships Saturday. The Falcons will look to run some of their best times of the season at the meet hosted by UW-Oshkosh at Lake Breeze Golf Club.

MEET INFO
- The meet will feature 41 teams and over 350 competitors in each race. The women's race is set for an 11 a.m. start, followed by the men's race at noon. Click here for a preview from UW-Oshkosh, which greater details the regional meet.

PARKING
- Fans planning on attending should not there is no spectator parking at Lake Breeze Golf Club. Rather fans are directed to Winneconne High School where shuttle buses will be going back-and-forth. More information is available at the above link to UW-Oshkosh.

THREE THINGS - WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
1) The Falcons finished 10th at last year's regional meet, the best such finish in program history. In addition, 2015 senior Marya Haegler rant to All-Region honors, finishing in 20th place. Last year's meet was held at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois. Of the seven runners who competed, six ran PR times in last year's event.

2) CUW has four runners set to run in 2016 who competed at last year's NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals. Teams are limited to seven runners and the Falcons will be led by junior Nora Imperl and senior Ashley Scheele, both individuals who earned All-NACC accolades two weeks ago at the conference meet.

3) Lineup: Imperl, Scheele, Paulina Agnello, Hannah Erl, Martha Kulberg, Cassandra Sprotte and Molly Wirtz.

THREE THINGS - MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
1) The Falcons placed 22nd at the regional meet last season. The Falcons had six runners compete last season, and all six ran PR times.

2) Just two of the six runners who competed in the regional last season are in the lineup for Saturday's meet. Those two are the two seniors on the Falcons roster, Michael Taylor, and Zach Ziemann. Taylor posted a 26:50.6 last season, while Ziemann ran a 27:14.2.

3) Lineup: Taylor, Ziemann, Emanuel Huerta-Gutierrez, Brennan Linse, Craig Reese, Ryan Teigen, Matthew Wilcox.
