The preseason accolades continue to roll in for CUW kicker Dan Winsey. Named a 2010 preseason first team All-American by the Beyond Sports Network last month, this month Winsey was selected as a first team All-American by D3Football.com.
Last season, Winsey led the Northern Athletics Conference in PAT percentage (100% - 23-for-23) and amassed a league best 13 made field goals.
Over the course of the past two seasons, the senior has played an integral part in helping decide a number of conference games. He has gone 47-for-49 on extra points and 25-for-31 on field goals (with a long of 48 yards) the last two falls, being named a first team all-conference selection in each of those campaigns. Winsey also earned second team All-American honors from D3Football.com this past season.
Winsey and the Falcons kickoff their 2010 season on September 4th at Augsburg at 1pm, with their home slate getting underway on September 18th against Carthage at 1pm from Century Stadium.
